Culture Passes & Discount Tickets
The Library offers a limited number of passes and discount tickets to a variety of Long Island and New York City cultural institutions. We offer three types of passes & tickets: Print-On-Demand Passes, Pick-Up Passes, and Discount Tickets.
Discount Tickets
Discount Tickets can be purchased at the Circulation Desk. Please call 631-581-5933 to check availability and cost. Valid Islip Public Library Card required. Pricing and availability are subject to change. Tickets are not replaceable or refundable. Current discount tickets:
The Gateway Playhouse

The Long Island Science Center
Discount Tickets: $10 for all ages
The Long Island Science Center is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) Learning Museum with a mission to prepare young people for the challenges of a 21st century economy, built on advanced technology and innovation.
Suffolk County Parks
Discount Tickets: $5
Visit the Islip Public Library for a one-time use parking permit to visit participating Suffolk County Parks. Not all parks are included. Ask the Reference Desk for a list of the parks where the permits are accepted.
Culture Passes
Please read and agree to our terms, then make a reservation from the provided list of available passes and dates. The Library has Culture Passes that grant you entrance into cultural institutions and parks. Culture Passes can be reserved up to 30 days in advance. No more than two (2) Culture Passes may be reserved within a 30-day time period; patrons may only reserve a maximum of one (1) Culture Pass/day. Passes cannot be renewed. Each participating cultural institution sets its own limits, which are listed on the reservation page under Learn More.
Patrons should call the cultural institution directly or check their website for up-to-date information regarding hours of operation, special events, parking, and/or directions. Unexpected closings do occur. The Library is not responsible for any entrance fees in the event that a pass is lost or not returned on time for your use. The Library offers two types of Culture Passes.
Print-On-Demand Passes
Reserve in advance online and print from any computer before your visit. They have a one (1) day loan period and are valid only for the day reserved. A printer icon will appear next to these passes.
Pick-Up Passes
Reserve in advance online for the day before your visit and pick it up at the Circulation Desk. Passes may be checked out for a total of three (3) days. Pick-Up Passes must be picked up at the Circulation Desk by the person who made the reservation. The Passes must be returned in the Library and hand-delivered to a clerk at the Circulation desk. A $20 late fee will be assessed per day per pass. In the event that a Culture Pick-Up Pass is lost, a fee will be assessed for the full replacement cost of the membership. If a lost pass is returned, the replacement cost will not be refunded. If you are unable to borrow the Culture Pass, please cancel your reservation through our website or by telephone. As a courtesy to others, please cancel any reservation you will not be using as soon as possible.
I have read the rules for borrowing an Islip Public Library Culture Pass and understand the rules stated above. I accept full responsibility and liability for the cost of replacing the Culture Pass if it is lost or stolen while checked out in my name.
